Szonyi New Head of BNP Paribas Securities Services Hungary
BNP Paribas Securities Services says it has appointed Beata
Szonyi as the head of Securities Services in Hungary. She will build on the
foundations put in place by the outgoing head, Theofilos Mitsakos; he has
relocated to London to take up the post of head of clearing and custody
operations for the bank’s UK business.
Szonyi joins from Unicredit Global Securities Services,
where she was most recently a global relationship manager for the bank’s
flagship US and UK clients’ activities in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and
the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), playing a crucial role in
managing and growing key client accounts for the bank.
We are told that with almost two decades’ experience in
custody in CEE, Szonyi has excellent knowledge of the local market and a sound
understanding of the local custody requirements of large US and UK banks and
institutional investors in Hungary.
Szonyi has also held senior roles in relationship
management, product development and network management at Credit Suisse First
Boston and Citibank, where she was responsible for developing and maintaining
relationships with the bank’s financial institutions client base.
In her new post she will report to Gerald Noltsch, the
firm’s regional manager for Germany, Northern Europe, CEE and CIS
BNP Paribas Securities Services reminds readers that it launched
local custody services in Hungary in 2008 after securing a banking licence and
local CSD memberships. In June 2010, it became a general clearing member for
fixed income and began to offer on-exchange services.
